Phones 4u could be sold within weeks after buyout firm BC Partners [BCPRT.UL] resurrected talks to buy the privately owned mobile phone retailer for about 700 million pound ($1.1 billion), the Sunday Times reported, citing no sources. It reported that the European buyout group approached Providence Equity Partners, the U.S. investment firm that acquired the mobile retailer in 2006, with a sweetened offer in the past couple of weeks.
