Barclays Capital has 5.36 percent of Danisco shares, (BARC), (DCO), (NYSE: DD)

Barclays Capital Securities (BARC.L) has a 5.36 percent stake in Danisco (DCO.CO), the Danish takeover target said. Barclays held nearly 2.56 million shares as of May 9, said Danisco, subject to a friendly $6.4 billion takeover offer from U.S. chemicals group DuPont (DD.N) due to expire on Friday. Such a holding would make Barclays the second biggest shareholder after U.S. hedge fund group Elliott which has flagged a 10.02 percent stake. DuPont requires acceptance for its 700 Danish crowns per share offer by shareholders with at least 80 percent of Danisco's stock to carry out the transaction.

E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (DuPont) offers a range of products and services for markets, including agriculture and food, building and construction, electronics and communications, general industrial and transportation.
