Terex's unsolicited offer for Demag Cranes (D9CGn.DE) pushed shares in the German crane maker up 22 percent on Monday, beyond the offer price, amid expectations of a takeover battle. U.S. crane maker Terex on Monday said it would launch a takeover offer for its German rival in an 884 million euro ($1.31 billion) bid. Terex will offer 41.75 euros per Demag Cranes share in cash and said the minimum acceptance threshold would be 51 percent. The offer represents a 41 percent premium to the pre-takeover speculation share price for Demag Cranes (D9CGn.DE), Terex said.
