Amazon to pay more than $300 million for HBO shows - report, (NASDAQ: AMZN)

Amazon.com Inc will pay more than $300 million over three years to offer older shows from premium-cable channel HBO over the next three years, tech blog Re/code reported on Thursday, citing multiple people familiar with the deal. Amazon's streaming video service will offer shows like "The Sopranos" starting next month. The deal value reported by Re/code is less than the $200 million a year estimated by analysts. Amazon.com, Inc. (Amazon.com) serves consumers through its retail websites and focus on selection, price, and convenience. Shares of AMZN traded higher by 3.51% or $11.39/share to $335.97. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $245.75 and as high as $408.06. On average, 4633360 shares of AMZN exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 3865415.
