Goldman Sachs committed to Brazil operations, COO Cohn says, (NYSE: GS)

Goldman Sachs Group Inc is committed to maintaining its investment-banking operations in Brazil as part of its global footprint, Chief Operating Officer Gary Cohn said on Wednesday. Cohn said the size of the unit will reflect business opportunities, adding that Goldman Sachs has not missed any major mergers and acquisitions or initial public offering deals over the past year.

Shares of GS traded higher by 1.02% or $1.6/share to $158.16. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $137.29 and as high as $181.13. On average, 3519100 shares of GS exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 4009981.
