Deals of the day- Mergers and acquisitions, (NYSE: RDS-B)

The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1000 GMT on Tuesday: ** Royal Dutch Shell Plc launched a long-anticipated sale of most of its stake in Australia's Woodside Petroleum Ltd on Tuesday, looking to reap about $5.7 billion as it moves to focus on developing its own gas assets in Australia.** Britain's BG Group Plc has sold a majority stake in one of Europe's biggest gas pipelines to Antin Infrastructure Partners for nearly $1 billion, the firm's first major asset sale since announcing a portfolio review to beef up its finances.

Shares of RDS-B traded higher by 0.56% or $0.47/share to $84.87. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $65.02 and as high as $87.59. On average, 618708 shares of RDS-B exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 342609.
