Netflix: Will continue to fight Comcast deal for Time Warner Cable, (NASDAQ: NFLX), (NYSE: TWC), (NYSE: TWX)

Netflix Inc, stung at paying Comcast Corp for faster video delivery to its customers, said on Wednesday it had no intention of dropping its fight against Comcast's plan to purchase rival Time Warner Cable Inc. Netflix has said it is concerned about Comcast's clout, which would grow with the acquisition of Time Warner Cable, in hampering Netflix's ability to get movies and television from its servers to its subscribers' television screens."We continue to focus on strong net neutrality, including interconnection, to prevent large ISPs (internet service providers) from holding our joint customers hostage with poor performance in order to extract payments from us, other Internet content firms, and Internet transit suppliers," Netflix said in a letter to shareholders."We will continue to advocate for the U.S. government to block the merger of Comcast/TWC or, at the very least, prevent a combined entity from charging for interconnection," the company said.In February, Netflix struck a deal to pay Comcast for faster online delivery of its movies and TV shows through a practice known as interconnection, after customers complained about slow service.

Netflix, Inc. is an Internet television network with more than 44 million members in over 40 countries. Shares of NFLX fell by 0.12% or $-0.53/share to $448.59. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $299.50 and as high as $489.29. On average, 2079610 shares of NFLX exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 8447091.

Time Warner Cable Inc. (TWC) is a provider of video, high-speed data and voice services in the United States with systems located in five geographic areas: New York State, the Carolinas, Ohio, Southern California and Texas. Shares of TWC fell by 1.02% or $-1.4/share to $136.14. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $115.62 and as high as $155.32. On average, 1798660 shares of TWC exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 8466112.

Time Warner Inc. (Time Warner) is a media and entertainment company. Shares of TWX traded higher by 2.22% or $1.57/share to $72.21. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $58.22 and as high as $88.13. On average, 7773790 shares of TWX exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 20528960.
