Johnson & Johnson buys energy drink brand in India, (NYSE: JNJ)

Johnson & Johnson Inc said on Friday it had bought the energy drink brand ORSL from Indian firm Jagdale Industries Ltd for an undisclosed amount, in a bid to expand its consumer healthcare business in the country. The U.S.-based diversified healthcare firm did not disclose the financial terms of the deal, but a source directly involved in the transaction told Reuters that Johnson & Johnson acquired the brand for about 7.5 billion rupees ($121.69 million).

Johnson & Johnson is a holding company. The Company is engaged in the research and development, manufacture and sale of a broad range of products in the health care field. Shares of JNJ traded higher by 0.17% or $0.19/share to $109.01. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $86.09 and as high as $109.32. On average, 7442970 shares of JNJ exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 6200277.
