ARMs up on Takeover Chatter

ARM Holdings, which designs processors for mobile phones and owns and licenses the patents for them, hit a new 52-week high today as takeover rumours emerged that ARM could be the next target. Intel's purchase of Infineon is a clear sign that the chip giant is moving into the mobile phone space, where ARM is the dominant player. Other large tech companies looking to compete with Intel in this small but rapidly growing market could get a jump start if they had ARM in their control. ARM is just a 7 Billion dollar company which could be a valuable asset for any of the big tech giants out there.
