London's financial times said monday that JPMorgan Chase would be looking to purchase the rest of RBS Sempra Commodities. Another company interested in making the acquisition is French bank Société Generale. JPM, earlier this year, bought RBS Sempra's global oil, metals, coal, and European power and gas business for $1.6 billion.
RBS Sempra Commodities is a commodities trading company in North America. It consists of three companies: Sempra Energy Trading, RBS Sempra Metals, and Sempra Energy Solutions. RBS Sempra was formed as a joint venture between Sempra Energy and The Royal Bank of Scotland's Global Banking & Markets division in 2008.
