SKorea Lotte to bid for Matahari hypermart ops -source, (MPPA), (CASP), (CARR)

South Korea's Lotte Shopping Co Ltd (023530.KS) plans to take part in the next round of bidding to buy the hypermarket business of Indonesia's Matahari Putra Prima PT (MPPA.JK), which the group hopes to sell for $1 billion, a source said. French retailer Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (CASP.PA), which recently snapped up Carrefour SA's (CARR.PA) Thailand assets, is also expected to submit a second-round bid ahead of the Friday deadline, two separate sources said. Matahari, a retailer controlled by one of Indonesia's biggest conglomerates Lippo Group, said last month that four companies were interested in investing in the company as majority shareholder and becoming a partner to expand the hypermarket business.
