Bank of Ireland (BKIR.I) plans to sell its fund administration business, the Bank of Ireland Securities Services, to Northern Trust (NTRS.O) for up to 60 million euros ($82.53 million) to further boost its capital levels, it said on Thursday. Ireland has pledged to radically shrink its banks and boost their capital as part of an EU/IMF bailout designed to bring an end to a prolonged banking crisis that has brought the economy to its knees. Bank of Ireland said the deal would be subject to certain regulatory conditions and is expected to close in the coming months.
