Hospital operator Community Health Systems Inc (CYH.N) is determined to acquire smaller rival Tenet Healthcare Corp (THC.N) and has the patience to get the deal done, Community Health's chief executive officer said on Tuesday. Community Health went public in December with its unsolicited $3.3 billion bid for Tenet, which has been working to fend off the overture. Speaking at the UBS Global Healthcare Services Conference in New York, Community Health CEO Wayne Smith said his company has all the tools needed to get a deal done, including the infrastructure and manpower to assimilate a sizable acquisition, $1 billion in cash flow, available financing vehicles, and a supportive board.
