DaVita Inc (DVA.N), the biggest U.S. operator of dialysis clinics, said it has agreed to acquire privately held DSI Renal for about $690 million to expand its operations, and divest some of its own centers as a condition for the transaction. "This acquisition introduces us to several new geographies and makes us a more effective competitor in selected areas," DaVita Chief Executive Kent Thiry said. The Nashville, Tennessee-based DSI Renal currently operates 106 dialysis centers and has an annual revenue of about $360 million.
