Cosan sees savings of 3.4 billion reais with Shell JV, (NYSE: CZZ)

Brazil's Cosan (CZZ.N)(CSAN3.SA), the world's largest sugar and ethanol group, said Wednesday its joint venture with Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L) will result in cost savings of 3.4 billion reais (US$2 billion). Cosan has all of its 24 sugar and ethanol mills and its energy generation operations in the venture, as well as fuel distribution assets. The new company, Raizen, plans to be Brazil's No. 2 fuel distributor with estimated annual sales of $30 billion. ($1 = 1.662 reais) (Reporting by Inae Riveras)
