Brigus Gold (BRD.TO) plans to sell or set up a joint-venture for its gold project in southern Mexico, in a move to focus on its main assets in Ontario and Saskatchewan, said Chief Executive Wade Dawe. "The asset in Mexico, we are looking to realize value from that asset," said Dawe. "We will realize value from that asset in southern Mexico, because the operating focus is going to be Canada." The Mexican project, called Ixhuatan, has a resource of about 906,000 ounces of gold, using a 2 gram cut-off grade, said Dawe, adding that the estimate is compliant with Canadian regulatory requirements. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ For more stories from PDAC convention: [ID:nN02153893] ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The Halifax, Nova Scotia-based company has also begun to study the possibility of expanding the capacity of its mill at its Black Fox gold mine in northern Ontario, said Dawe, speaking on the sidelines of the PDAC mining convention in Toronto on Tuesday evening.
