PDAC-Capstone eyes acquisitions in bid to expand, (TSE: CS)

Copper miner Capstone Mining (CS.TO) is scouting for acquisitions to expand the size and scale of its production, said the company's vice president Brad Mercer on Monday. Mercer, who was addressing investors at the PDAC mining convention in Toronto, said the company is on the lookout for a "merger of equals." "We are very aggressively looking at M&A opportunities," said Mercer, adding that the company would prefer a tie-up with a company that has assets in the Americas. Capstone owns mining assets in the Mexico and the Yukon Territory. The company with a market capitalization of about C$1 billion, is looking for a tie-up with a company of a similar size, Mercer told Reuters following his presentation.
