Cablevision Systems Corp (CVC.N) said on Thursday it will rename its Rainbow Media unit as AMC Networks Inc followed its planned spin-off by mid-year. Long-time Rainbow executive Josh Sapan will become president and chief executive of the new public company. AMC has been Rainbow's most successful cable network in recent years led by the success of hit award-winning shows like "Mad Men," "Breaking Bad" and "The Walking Dead." Other networks included in the spun-off company will include WE tv, IFC and Sundance Channel.
