Diversified manufacturer Ametek Inc forecast a full-year profit mostly above analysts' estimates on strong growth expected at its oil and gas, power and aerospace businesses. The company, which makes electronic equipment like display and monitoring devices, and electric motors for vacuum cleaners and blowers, expects full-year earnings of $2.20-$2.25 a share. Analysts were expecting $2.21 a share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S. A recovery in the U.S. manufacturing sector drove industry demand while increased spending on power projects boosted sales of distribution and transmission products. Ametek's January-March net income was $90.4 million, or 56 cents a share, up from $57.9 million, or 36 cents a share, a year ago. Net sales rose 29 percent to $717.8 million.
