Australian coal miner Whitehaven Coal said on Thursday China's Yanzhou Coal Mining Co is one of the parties it has shortlisted as it considers bids for the company. Whitehaven, which said on April 13 its board was considering bids, said in a statement it had not been advised of any change to this status. Yanzhou and India's Aditya Birla had lodged final bids for the company, sources told Reuters last week.
