Banco do Brasil (BBAS3.SA), Latin America's largest bank by assets, is in talks to buy EuroBank, a U.S. bank headquartered in Florida, the Brazilian lender said in a securities filing on Monday. EuroBank has locations in Coral Gables, Pompano Beach and Boca Raton, the filing said. Brasilia-based Banco do Brasil did not give possible terms of a transaction. Expansion abroad comes in part on a government push to speed up the internationalization of local companies and offer financial services to Brazilians residing abroad. Chief Executive Aldemir Bendine told Reuters earlier this month that the bank could announce a U.S. acquisition soon.
