The German exchange operator is betting any official offer by Nasdaq and ICE will reveal cracks in the predators' financial firepower. Nasdaq and ICE are expected to soon take their $11.1 billion bid directly to NYSE shareholders through a tender offer, two sources familiar with the situation said. "This step would force Nasdaq to make disclosures that would show whether they actually intend to buy NYSE or whether they merely want to spoil our deal," a person close to Deutsche Boerse said on Friday.
