RPT-Saab-Spyker chief sees production start-up soon, (SPYKR)

Saab's production lines may restart late next week, ending a near six-week stoppage, the auto maker's chief told workers on Tuesday following a deal with a Chinese investor. Spyker Cars (SPYKR.AS), the Dutch owner of Saab, had announced a deal with China's Pangda Automobile Trade Co Ltd (601258.SS) on Monday which it said would secure Saab's mid-term funding needs and allow production to resume. Spyker-Saab Chief Executive Victor Muller met Saab workers at a specially called meeting at the plant in Trollhattan in western Sweden. Saab spokesman Eric Geers said Muller told staff production could start "as early as the end of next week", though that was not guaranteed.
