Computer Sciences gains EU okay to acquire iSOFT, (NYSE: CSC), (ISF)

U.S. technology services provider Computer Sciences Corp (CSC) (CSC.N) secured EU approval on Tuesday for its $188 million purchase of Australian-based healthcare software provider iSOFT Group (ISF.AX). The companies announced the deal in April. The European Commission, the competition watchdog for the 27-member European Union, said the deal would not hurt rivals. "The investigation demonstrated that there are sufficient alternative healthcare software developed by competitors of iSOFT with which CSC competitors can partner," the Commission said in a statement.

Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) is engaged in information technology (IT) and professional services industry. Shares of CSC remained unchanged at $38.55. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $36.30 and as high as $56.61. On average, 1737280 shares of CSC exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 0.
