UBS AG (UBSN.VX) has hired power and utilities investment banker Keith Lord, the Swiss bank said on Tuesday. Lord will be based in New York and report to Jim Schaefer. He began his investment banking career in 1992 at Salomon Brothers and also worked at Wasserstein Perella & Co and at Lehman Brothers. Most recently, Lord was a retained independent contractor for investment bank Evercore Partners (EVR.N) from March 2009 August 2009, and thereafter served as a part-time consultant until June of 2011. Despite scores of bankers leaving over the past few years, UBS has also made a dozen key hires, including most recently Tom Langford as global head of energy investment banking and Adam Frisch as co-head of the IT services banking business.
