Four big bourses on London Metal Exchange shortlist, (NASDAQ: CME), (NYSE: NYX)

CME Group, NYSE Euronext, InterContinental Exchange (ICE) and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. (HKEx) are on a shortlist of bidders for the London Metal Exchange (LME), sources close to the matter said.The four exchanges are looking at LME operations in the city ahead of a May 7 deadline to make offers in the second bidding round of a process the 135-year-old bourse kicked off last September, the sources told Reuters."The LME can confirm that it has been hosting a series of meetings with interested parties and that this process is continuing. We cannot name any of the organisations involved due to formal confidentiality agreements," an LME spokesman said.The final four have been whittled down from a list of around 15 who had expressed interest last year in the LME, the world's biggest marketplace for industrial metals such as copper, aluminium and nickel.

CME Group Inc. (CME Group) offers a range of products, including those based on interest rates, equities, foreign exchange, commodities, energy and metals. Shares of CME fell by 1.04% or $-3.02/share to $287.70. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $224.69 and as high as $313.00. On average, 800848 shares of CME exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 189325.

NYSE Euronext is a global operator of financial markets and provider of trading technologies. Shares of NYX fell by 0.53% or $-0.155/share to $29.28. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $21.80 and as high as $41.60. On average, 3031470 shares of NYX exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 1007755.
