Deals of the day -- mergers and acquisitions, (NYSE: COP)

The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 2100 GMT on Monday:** ConocoPhillips is to sell its 8.4 percent stake in Kazakhstan oil field Kashagan for about $5 billion to Oil and Natural Gas Corp, a state-run Indian group looking to boost production.

ConocoPhillips explores for, produces, transports and markets crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, liquefied natural gas and bitumen on a worldwide basis. Shares of COP traded higher by 0.12% or $0.07/share to $56.74. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $50.62 and as high as $78.29. On average, 6106510 shares of COP exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 4582003.
