E*Trade to name former Barclays exec Idzik as CEO -sources, (NYSE: BCS), (NASDAQ: ETFC)

E*Trade Financial Corp is set to name former Barclays PLC executive Paul Idzik as its chief executive, according to three sources familiar with the matter.The U.S. online brokerage could name Idzik as its CEO as early as Thursday afternoon, one of the sources said.Idzik, an American who was Barclays' chief operating officer between 2004 and 2008, would be the fifth chief executive of the struggling online brokerage and bank since 2009.A spokeswoman for E*Trade was not immediately available for comment.

Barclays PLC (Barclays) is a global financial services provider engaged in retail banking, credit cards, wholesale banking, investment banking, wealth management and investment management services. Shares of BCS traded higher by 0.72% or $0.135/share to $18.92. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $9.23 and as high as $19.32. On average, 3469930 shares of BCS exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 1353674.

E*TRADE Financial Corporation (E*TRADE) is a financial services company, which provides online brokerage and related products and services primarily to individual retail investors under the brand E*TRADE Financial. Shares of ETFC traded higher by 0.1% or $0.01/share to $9.87. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $7.08 and as high as $11.50.
