Rockwell Collins to purchase flight systems firm Arinc for $1.39 bln, (NASDAQ: CG), (NYSE: COL)

Rockwell Collins Inc, a supplier of avionics and other electronic systems for commercial and military aircraft, has agreed to purchase aerospace communications firm Arinc Inc for $1.39 billion from the Carlyle Group LP . The transaction will combine Arinc's networks and services with Rockwell's avionics and cabin technologies to benefit from the growing field of aviation information management, Rockwell said in a statement on Sunday.

Shares of CG fell by 0.59% or $-0.16/share to $27.05. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $23.85 and as high as $37.89. On average, 642303 shares of CG exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 667576.

Shares of COL fell by 0.29% or $-0.22/share to $74.42. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $46.37 and as high as $64.16.
