Microsoft to purchase cloud-based software maker Parature, (NYSE: IBM), (OTHER OTC: SABA)

Microsoft Corp said it would purchase cloud-based software maker Parature Inc, which helps businesses manage help desks and provide other customer support services.Parature's software helps businesses provide automated customer service, manage online discussion boards and forums, and conduct online surveys.The company's customers include Ask.com, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, International Business Machines Corp and Saba Software Inc.Microsoft did not disclose the terms of the deal.

International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) is an information technology (IT) company. Shares of IBM traded higher by 1.22% or $2.26/share to $188.26. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $172.57 and as high as $215.90. On average, 5242050 shares of IBM exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 811750.

Saba Software, Inc. (Saba) is a provider of learning and talent management solutions providing a set of People Cloud Applications that include enterprise learning, talent management, testing and assessment and collaboration solutions delivered through the Saba People Cloud. Shares of SABA traded higher by 0.24% or $0.03/share to $12.45. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $6.36 and as high as $12.50.
