Cooper Companies to purchase contact lens-maker Sauflon Pharma for $1.2 bln, (NYSE: COO)

Medical device maker Cooper Companies Inc said on Monday it would purchase European contact lens-maker Sauflon Pharmaceuticals Ltd for $1.2 billion. The deal, which will be financed through off-shore cash and credit facilities, is expected to add to earnings per share in fiscal 2015 on an adjusted basis, Cooper Companies said.

The Cooper Companies, Inc. is a global medical device company. Shares of COO fell by 1.1% or $-1.51/share to $135.53. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $116.95 and as high as $145.34. On average, 421925 shares of COO exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 432298.
