Dish chairman says bid for T-Mobile possible now Sprint is out, (NASDAQ: DISH), (NYSE: TMUS)

Dish Network Corp Chairman Charlie Ergen said it makes sense for the satellite operator to consider making a bid for T-Mobile US Inc now that Sprint is out of the picture."Certainly to the extent that Sprint either dropped out or wasn't interested or the government wouldn't allow it ... then T-Mobile is something that we would have an interest in," Ergen said on Wednesday on a conference call after Dish reported quarterly results.Investors have been watching for any signs of what Ergen plans to do with the spectrum the company has spent billions stockpiling over the past few years.Possible plans include a partnership with another wireless player or building or buying a wireless network. While its core pay TV business has stalled, Dish shares have risen more than 40 percent to $63.81 over the past 12 months mainly thanks to investors' high hopes for the value of the company's spectrum.

DISH Network Corporation is a pay-television (TV) provider, with approximately 13. Shares of DISH traded higher by 1.9% or $1.18/share to $63.33. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $43.75 and as high as $67.50. On average, 2195530 shares of DISH exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 2329928.

Shares of TMUS fell by 7.49% or $-2.54/share to $31.37. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $22.95 and as high as $35.50. On average, 4162600 shares of TMUS exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 13564581.
