Poland's second-largest cable operator Vectra wants to buy a chunk of its smaller rival, the nation's No.3 group Multimedia MMPA.WA, according to the anti-monopoly office's website. On the last day of 2010 Vectra had filed for permission from the regulator to buy part of Multimedia's business, the regulator said. Multimedia spokeswoman Krystyna Kanownik said the company was interested in selling some of its assets because it was thinly spread in some parts of Poland, which prevented it from ensuring a proper level of customer service.
