Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said on Wednesday that while his department would have an advisory role in whether to approve a takeover of Toronto Stock Exchange operator TMX Group (X.TO) by the London Stock Exchange (LSE.L), the decision would be made by Industry Minister Tony Clement. "I'm aware of the transaction. From a federal point of view this is an issue for the minister of industry," he told reporters in Ottawa.
