Reinsurer Everest Re Group said it bought privately held Premiere Underwriting Services (Premiere), expanding its presence in the Canadian insurance sector. Toronto-headquartered Premiere, which specializes in entertainment, sports and leisure related risks, will operate as an affiliate of Everest Insurance Company of Canada -- Everest Re's Canadian subsidiary. Everest Insurance has also agreed to buy the renewal rights and operations of Executive Risk Insurance Services Ltd's financial lines business, Everest Re said in a statement.
