Norway's Opera Software (OPERA.OL) agreed to form a joint venture with China's Telling Telecom (000829.SZ) to develop and distribute a customised mobile browser based on its technology for the Chinese market. Opera, which produces the world's most used mobile browsers, said on Thursday it would own up to 40 percent in the venture through an investment over three years. "The venture will enable Opera and the partner to accelerate their growth in users in the Chinese market by combining proven browser technology from Opera with local content, operations and Telling's unparalleled distribution network within China," Opera said in an emailed statement to Reuters.
