French dairy cooperative Sodiaal is close to signing a deal to supply milk to Chinese baby-formula maker Synutra International Inc (SYUT.O) for a future plant in northwest France, Sodiaal's chairman said. "We hope to ink a partnership with the Synutra group in a few weeks," Francois Iches said in an interview with regional daily Ouest France published on Thursday. "We will deliver 280 to 300 million litres of milk a year to the site in Carhaix," he said, referring to Synutra's plans to develop a baby milk-powder plant in a town in Brittany. Construction of the plant would start in 2013, with output reaching full capacity in the first half of 2014, he said.
