Rupert Murdoch's News Corp (NWSA.O) is in the early stages of talks about forming a consortium to acquire control of Formula One motor racing, Sky News reported on Tuesday. News Corp has been in preliminary talks in recent weeks with people connected to at least one of F1's big car manufacturers, and with Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, about working together on a prospective takeover of F1, Sky business editor Mark Kleinman wrote in his blog. JPMorgan is advising News Corp on the situation, which is at an embryonic stage, he said. So far, News Corp had had no contact with F1's current owner, private equity firm CVC, the report said.
