Design-software maker Parametric Technology Corp plans to buy Canadian software and services provider MKS Inc for C$292.5 million ($304.56 million) in cash to strengthen its software-intensive products development business. Parametric Technology, which makes software that helps manufacturers design new products, will pay C$26.20 per share, a premium of 38 percent to MKS's closing share price on Wednesday. Needham, Massachusetts-based Parametric Technology, expects the acquisition to be neutral to its 2011 adjusted results and add slightly to that in 2012. It expects the deal to close in early June.
