Weak sales in Europe are seen hitting first quarter trading profit at Italian car maker Fiat SpA (FIA.MI), although this will be partly offset by good demand in Brazil and in the light vehicles segment. Fiat will report results on Wednesday, the first time it publishes separate figures from truck and tractor maker Fiat Industrial (FI.MI) since its demerger in January. It is expected to post a trading profit of 245 million euros ($354.1 million), according to a consensus distributed by Fiat to analysts. However, much of the investors' attention will be focused on Fiat's plans to take a majority stake in U.S. car maker Chrysler, 30 percent-owned by Fiat and already managed by Italy's biggest industrial group, analysts say.
