Vanguard Health Systems, controlled by Blackstone Group , filed with the U.S. regulators on Friday to raise up to $600 million in an initial public offering of common stock. The filing did not reveal how many shares the hospital operator planned to sell or their expected price. The company intends to list its common stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "VHS". In March, HCA Holding Inc , a Tennessee-based hospital operator, sold 126.2 million shares for $30.00 each, raising $3.79 billion, making its IPO the biggest private equity-backed offering ever in the United States.
