Jarden Corp's founder and chairman Martin Franklin's Platform Acquisition Holdings Ltd said it was in advanced talks with MacDermid Inc , a privately held specialty chemicals maker, for a possible acquisition.Shares of Platform Acquisition were halted on the London Stock Exchange on Thursday morning and are expected to resume trading if the deal does not go through, the company said in a statement.Franklin is planning to purchase privately held specialty chemicals maker MacDermid Inc for $1.8 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported earlier in the day, citing people familiar with the matter.If completed, the acquisition would constitute a reverse takeover under the Listing Rules, Platform Acquisition said.
