Comcast seeks advice on potential Time Warner Cable bid -sources, (NYSE: TWC), (NYSE: TWX)

Top U.S. cable provider Comcast Corp has tapped JP Morgan Chase & Co for advice as it evaluates a potential bid for Time Warner Cable Inc , people familiar with the matter said. Comcast brought in JPMorgan to help review options as speculation of cable industry consolidation increased in the past several months, one of the people said.

Time Warner Cable Inc. (TWC) is a provider of video, high-speed data and voice services in the United States with systems located in five geographic areas: New York State, the Carolinas, Ohio, Southern California and Texas. Shares of TWC fell by 0.55% or $-0.73/share to $131.80. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $84.57 and as high as $139.85. On average, 2358890 shares of TWC exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 3219261.

Time Warner Inc. (Time Warner) is a media and entertainment company. Shares of TWX traded higher by 1.4% or $0.92/share to $66.51. In the past year, the shares have traded as low as $46.40 and as high as $70.77. On average, 4337230 shares of TWX exchange hands on a given day and today's volume is recorded at 2191504.
