Canada to sell AECL reactor unit to SNC-Lavalin, (TSE: SNC)

The Canadian government confirmed on Wednesday it will sell the nuclear reactor division of Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd, or AECL, to SNC-Lavalin Group Inc (SNC.TO). The government put the unit up for sale in 2009 after years of subsidies and poor financial performance.
